Reports and Parent Interviews
Teachers have been very busy over this term with making time for individual parent interviews for all students, and the last few weeks they have been writing and finalising student reports. I have been reviewing reports over the last few days and have been very impressed with the level of commitment from our teachers and the way they are concerned for each child’s learning and wellbeing. In the Spotlight
Year 4
For the past 8 weeks Year 4 have been lucky enough to work through a program called Friends for Life. The program was run by Jen, Janine and Lisa, three qualified instructors from Centacare Fraser Coast. The children looked forward to this session every Tuesday.
Friends for Life is an anxiety prevention program approved by the World Health Organisation for children in Primary School.
The program promotes self-esteem, problem solving skills, building resilience, self-expression and positive relationship with peers. The children had fun playing games, building towers with marshmallows and straws, blowing up balloons and many other group-strengthening activities.
It was certainly a valuable program which consolidates the school’s You Can Do It program.
