Curriculum Delivery

The Religion Curriculum P-12 is the source for all planning, learning and teaching of Religion in Brisbane Catholic Education schools.

The Australian Curriculum is the source of all curriculum planning, assessment and reporting for learning areas named in the Australian Curriculum. Multiple opportunities are provided for each student to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, understanding and skills outlined within the Australian Curriculum through developmentally appropriate and differentiated learning experiences.

Star of the Sea Primary School provides learning from the BCE Religion Curriculum and P-10 Australian Curriculum in the following areas:

Curriculum Time Allocation

Curriculum access and time allocations

Curriculum planning and timetabling are aligned with the BCE allocation of hours per subject and learning area to ensure all students receive equitable access to the full breadth of the Australian Curriculum and Religious Education. Teachers use the BCE‑recommended time allocations to guide weekly and annual planning, prioritising sustained teaching in core learning areas such as Religion, English and Mathematics, while also ensuring appropriate time is dedicated to Science, HASS, Health and Physical Education, The Arts and Technologies. These allocations support balanced coverage, curriculum integrity and developmental appropriateness, while allowing flexibility to respond to student needs and the local school context, as outlined in the BCE time allocation guidelines for Prep to Year 6

Classroom and specialist teacher timetables are reflective of the school context and priority areas.
