Library Borrowing Days 2013

We thought it may be helpful to remind you of your child’s borrowing day so that they can remember to return their books and bring their library bags.
Monday – Year 7
Tuesday – Year 3 and Year 5
Wednesday – Prep, Year 2 and Year 6 Gold
Thursday – Year 6 Green, Year 4 and Year 1

New Books
We have some new books for borrowing , including picture books and chapter books. Some lucky children have already borrowed these. We always have new titles arriving all the time so there is a wide range to suit every reader in the school.

Overdue Loans
Mrs Lynch will soon be compiling the overdue notices to send home. We ask for your cooperation in returning books promptly. Of course children may renew their loans if they are still reading their books.
Reading with your Children
Reading aloud and sharing stories with your child is a great way to spend time together. Even better, reading and storytelling helps promote language, literacy and brain development. Take some time to read with your children, or alternatively talk with them about what they are currently reading. After all, we all spend way too much time watching TV, so take a few precious minutes each day, turn off the television or computer and READ!
Queensland Museum Loans
At the moment we have a display in the library titled ‘Saplings’. We are able to borrow exhibits from the Queensland Museum through the Wide Bay Resource Centre, at no cost. This year children will be able to get up close with all sorts of specimens from possums to frogs and many other amazing things. These exhibits will change regularly each term and they eventually rotate throughout all of Queensland.
